In this video, Craig will show you just how cool Flash Professional 8 can be! Using a combination of filters and blending modes, Craig will show you how to create a really cool lightning effect using Flash Professional 8. 2 - Neon Text Effect (5:58)
In this tutorial, Craig will show you how to use Flash Professional 8's blending and filters to create a realistic neon sign text effect. I've said this before, and I'll say it again . . . if you're not using Flash Professional 8, you're REALLY missing out!
3 - Ripple Effect (11:16)

5 - Creating a Custom Cursor (9:34)
In this tip, Craig will show you how to create your own custom mouse cursor for use in your Flash file, and he'll also show you how to avoid some common problems associated with doing this.
6 - Transparent Backgrounds (7:48)
Suppose you've got a background image you want to use for your Flash website, but you want it to take up more space in your browser window than just the size of your swf file. With this technique, you'll learn how to simply add a couple lines of code to your html file in order to make your Flash background transparent.
7 - Rotating Along a Path (9:57)
Motion guides are a very useful tool when creating animations in Flash, but many people don't know just HOW useful they can be. For example, in this video, Craig will show you how to create an animation where the object being animated automatically rotates in sync with the motion path.
8 - Creating a Shadow for an Animation (9:35)
Want to give your animation a little more life? In this video, Craig will show you how to add a bit of depth to your animation by creating an animated shadow to go along with it.
9 - Box Animation (14:32)
In this video tip, Craig will show you how to create an effective animation with a box animating onto the stage. After the box fades in, you'll animate some text in over the box, and then Craig will give you a little bonus tip by showing you how to cut this entire animation and paste it into a movie clip symbol.
10 - Guide Layers (11:13)
Did you know that a guide layer in Flash can be used for more than just motion paths for animations? If you didn't already know this, then this tutorial is for you. In this video tip, Craig will show you another common use for guide layers, and in the process, you'll learn the basics of drawing in simple perspective.
11 - Bubble Effect (20:49)
In this video, you'll learn how to create an aquarium-like bubble effect using a simple movie clip copied multiple times onto the stage.
12 - Winter Scene (19:57)
In this video tutorial, Craig will show you how to create a winter scene animation with falling snow. This tutorial uses a technique that's very similar to the technique used in the "bubble effect" tutorial!
13 - Photo Transitions (17:57)
In this video tutorial, Craig will show you how to create a transition effect for a picture slideshow. Or you could just use it as a fade-in effect for a photo on your website. Either way, I think you'll like this one.
14 - Coin Flip Animation (7:26)
In this video tutorial, Craig will show you how to create an animation of a flipping coin. For this animation, Craig used two separate pictures of a coin--a picture of the heads side and another picture of the tails side.
15 - Spotlight Mask Animation (9:28)
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create a spotlight in Flash that will follow your cursor around the stage. This involves creating a mask and tying the position of that mask to the position of the mouse cursor.
16 - Metallic Text Effect (Running Time: 5:26)
In this video, Craig will show you a very quick and easy way to use Flash's drawing tools to give your logo a metallic look.
17 - Trailing the Cursor (8:31)
In this video, you will learn how to create an object that will follow your cursor around the stage, trailing slightly behind and never quite catching up!
18 - Button Basics (11:39)
Where exactly do your actions go when you want to add actions to a button in Flash? In this video, Craig will show you two different places where you can add your button actions, and he will explain the pros and cons of each.
19 - Pinwheel Effect (15:22)
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create your own pinwheel in Flash. When you move your cursor over the shape, it will start spinning, slowly at first, then picking up speed. The pinwheel will continue spinning as long as your cursor is hovering over it, and then when you move your cursor away, it will gradually slow down and stop.
20 - Magic Cursor (10:31)
This tutorial is more than just a tutorial on how to achieve a specific effect in Flash. Rather, it is intended to introduce you to a broader topic. Specifically, you'll learn how to alter the properties of a movie clip dynamically according to where your mouse cursor is on the stage. You'll create a movie clip that fades away as the user moves his cursor to the left side of the stage and then fades back into view as you move your mouse back to the right.
